In honor of the lovely holiday, Valentine’s Day, I decided to have a little fun with dinner! I was inspired by all the delicious baked goods people were making all day long from heart shaped rice krispies to heart shaped brownies! So I thought to myself…what heart shaped vegan fun could I have? I decided to cut our tofu for dinner with a heart shaped cookie cutter! It made dinner so fun! If you are having a hard time getting your child to like tofu (or haven’t tried) this would be awesome for them! Kids love fun shaped items, I mean why else do you think there’s such a market for character shaped vitamins, chicken tenders, and macaroni and cheese. In an effort to avoid those products, try fun shaped tofu!
I used my Dill Roasted Tofu recipe for this dish!
To Prepare Tofu:
1. Take block of tofu and pat with paper towels to remove as much moisture as possible.
2. Flip the tofu on it’s side and slice the block into four pieces.
3. Take more towels to remove the most moisture you can from the tofu. This allows it to pick up more flavor and have a tougher texture.
4. Cut out heart shapes, similar to how you would with sugar cookies using as much tofu as possible.
5. Prepare tofu as desired.
