Ch-Ch-Ch-Chia!

Yogurt is getting a lot of praise for its probiotics and protein.  So most parents think it’s a healthy snack or addition to a meal. However, yogurt especially brands targeted at children, are packed with sugar and junk ingredients!  So instead of packing your tiny guts with high fructose corn syrup, sucrose, and cornstarch…try this jam-packed power house of nutrition.

My 11 month old could NOT get enough! She loves this!  My recipe calls for banana however I’ve used peaches and blueberries! Any milk alternative will do.  Coconut Dream Unsweetened is my favorite but I’ve made it with Organic Rice Milk as well.  Not only is this for your children but also a protein packed treat for yourself as well!

I use a 4oz mason jar to make the perfect serving!

Zoey’s Banana Yogurt

Ingredients

2 Tablespoons of Chia Seeds

1/4 of a banana mashed

Roughly 4 tablespoons of coconut dream unsweetened

Serving of your favorite probiotic supplement

Process

1. Mash the banana in the bottom of the jar. As smooth or chunky as you prefer

2. Add the chia seeds and probiotic powder

3. Top the mason jar off with Coconut Dream.

4. Put on the lid and give it a good shake

5. Store in the fridge for 2-3 hours until you enjoy!

Normal Banana Flavored Yogurt: Calories 170, Sugar 27g,  Protein 4.9g
